I.E. Mmasekgoa Masire-Mwamba
Ms. Mmasekgoa Masire-Mwamba is the of the Republic of Botswana to the Federal Republic of Germany. She has over 30 years senior level experience in a range of fields from business to multilateral diplomacy.
Previously she worked in the field of Consultancy & Advisory in economic development and governance. From 2008 – 2014, she completed two tenures as the Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth Secretariat. From 2003 – 2007, Ms. Masire-Mwamba was Chief Executive Officer of the Botswana Export Development and Investment Authority. Prior to that – from 1986 – 2002 she worked as an Assistant Engineer to the Group Manager of the Botswana Telecommunications Corporation. During this time she took a leave from 1998 – 1999 to be active in the Business Development sector for the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization in London. She is a board member of ESSA (Education Sub Saharan Africa) and was previously President of the Women in Business Association Botswana, Chairman of the Botswana Tourism Board, Board Member of the Botswana Civil Aviation Board, Standard Chartered Bank Botswana Ltd or of Cassiopeia (Private Investment Fund - Botswana).
Her educational qualifications include a degree in BSc. Physics & Electronics; Master’s in Business Administration and an LLB. Law.
